About Unfiltered Minds Mental Health Open Mic Tour

Unfiltered Minds: Real Stories, Real Healing

Presented by Mental Health Madina PLLC

Unfiltered Minds is a nationwide open mic night where anyone can get up to the front and share something about their mental health or something they may have never shared before. Created and hosted by licensed therapist Madina Alam, this tour travels to several U.S. cities in 2026. The goal is to create environments where being vulnerable and open is celebrated.

In each city, participants can come to share or just listen. Something Madina loves so much about Unfiltered Minds is that each time she does this event people who never planned to go up and speak, wind up doing so, simply because they were so inspired by watching others be vulnerable.

As a one-woman practice, Madina leads Unfiltered Minds personally, creating an intimate and authentic experience. Whether sharing or listening, attendees leave reminded that they are not alone and that in the right spaces, being open and vulnerable is looked up to as a strength.

Unfiltered Minds Mental Health Open Mic in Charlotte, NC – May 5, 2026

Unfiltered Minds is a nationwide mental health open mic event created and hosted by Madina Alam, licensed therapist and owner of Mental Health Madina PLLC.

On May 5, 2026, she’s bringing this unique mental health event to Charlotte for a night centered around real conversations, connection, and community.

Madina created Unfiltered Minds to make vulnerability feel normal, not taboo and to create spaces where mental health is something people actually want to talk about. Hence her slogan: say how you feel, it’s sexy.

This is a mental health open mic night where you can come to share your story or just listen. It’s not about trauma dumping or staying stuck in negativity, in fact people leave feeling more inspired, less alone, and more connected.

The loneliness epidemic is real, and it often comes from not feeling truly connected. Real connection isn’t just being around people. It’s that moment where you say something honest and someone actually understands you without trying to fix or judge it. That’s exactly why Madina created these spaces.

This type of event is what putting action behind the words is all about. An intimate event, where you can be honest, raw, vulnerable about all things, Mental Health without judgement. Whether you shared or listened, real connections were formed. Deep conversations were had.

—Charlotte Attendee

This open mic tonight truly made me open my eyes to that I’m not alone, and it’s ok to talk about it and not suffer in silence. I’m not too much or not enough, I’m human just like everyone else, and that’s ok because we all go through things.

—San Diego Attendee

    —Unfiltered Minds Attendee

I love connecting with people outside the therapy room and bringing mental health into bigger conversations.

Whether it’s a workshop, conference, podcast, or community event, I bring the same bold-yet-approachable energy that drives Mental Health Is Sexy. My focus is making mental health feel less intimidating and more empowering — blending clinical expertise with practical tools that people can actually use.
